Pigeon Forge Girls Trip

One of my favorite times to visit Pigeon Forge is in December. It's cold outside and the mountains look so beautiful against the fog that presents itself as the temperatures sink through the month. My oldest had her birthday in December and I'm sure everyone remembers her having to leave Pigeon Forge because her sister had an asthma attack. They were so disappointed that we didn't make it to Dollywood. So this year we decided to do a girls trip (plus little brother) to Pigeon Forge so that they could get to experience a fun cabin stay with their cousins and also get to have some fun at Dollywood. I may or may not have heard some threats a time or two from my oldest to her sister not to ruin this trip for her birthday this year. She was so excited! They all were. My sisters and nieces all made it and despite a rainy weekend we had the best time together!

We had the privilege to stay in one of the best cabins across Pigeon Forge and as y'all know I've stayed in quite a few! The Coneflower cabin was the perfect mix of a family friendly cabin as well as a great escape for adults. The kids and their cousins were all about the indoor pool and had the best time swimming together every night! I loved how the cabin had so many rooms as well. Each room with very comfy beds that would sleep at least 2 adults which was so great for our girls trip. My sister in law and my sisters got a room upstairs and their own bathroom while I took the room on my main floor for me + my little babies, then all the big girls slumber partied downstairs! The indoor pool was also downstairs but had a combination code lock on the door so that only the adults with said code could open it. Definitely an amazing feature that did not go overlooked. Parents like us appreciate things like that so much! Out the exterior door to the pool room you'll also find a ping pong table and a hot tub as well.

We were able to cook meals with ease in the equipped kitchen, relax, enjoy some Christmas movies by signing into our streaming apps, and slow down and laugh with each other. Not every cabin has the ability to do that in comfort because they feel cramped or don't accommodate families well but this one sure does! We weren't out enjoying Pigeon Forge every minute of this trip because of the weather so having a comfortable cabin really helps you feel like your trip isn't wasted is a great thing! Rainy days just make for precious cuddles and I will take those anytime.

I also wanted to highlight for y'all my appreciation for the road up to this cabin. I am not a - straight up a mountain where your driveway is a small parking spot right up against a cabin that's hanging off the side of a mountain - kinda girl. Maybe it's my lack of trust in my toddler not to climb the porch rails, or just my hovering motherly instincts but it's just not for me, okay? So if you are one of those moms, have one of those really cute but busy body toddlers too - this is the cabin for you if you're taking kids. It just feels so much safer!

All of these are in a nice newly paved community of cabins and while you're not going to get that breathtaking Mountain View as you drink your coffee... you're also not going to spit your coffee out because your child is making you nervous every 5 secs wanting to stand on a porch rail that should have been replaced but hasn't been because hiring someone to hang off the side of a mountain to repair it is pricy. As you can see I may feel a little triggered from a past cabin stay but I feel certain this resonates with a lot of you helicopter moms like myself! That's enough rambling so y'all just go book this cabin. From a mama to another mama this is the one!

We had the honor again to work with Dollywood and we learned about bald eagles this trip which all the kids loved. Little man talks about them all the time. We also learned even when it's cold everyone can appreciate some dippin' dots at the end of the night and that no matter what a kid is always going to spill a drink in a rented stroller (thank goodness they're plastic, amen?).

Being at Dollywood and sharing that experience with my kids and my sisters, watching the kids faces light up on rides and at new things they see and do just fills my mama cup right up. They have so much fun and that is just priceless! This was the first time we've been able to ride the train and it was lots of fun. From the carousel to the bear ride to the flying eagle the kids had the time of their life once again so of course we will be back!

We couldn't end our trip to Pigeon Forge without shopping at some of our favorite places and eating breakfast at Mama's Farmhouse. They have the absolute best breakfast from chocolate gravy and biscuits to never ending plates of bacon, so you aren't going to want to miss it on your list of must go's! The wait time is a little lengthy for a reason - it's well worth it. They even have tons of outdoor games like ring toss and cornhole to keep you and your little ones entertained while you wait.

Our girls Christmas/birthday trip was amazing! We had all the fun and made all the memories. A little rain can't stop a good time. So even if you're watching the weather and it looks like it's gonna stink just remember to book a fun cabin and take good people with you. I am so thankful God blessed me to be able to take a fun trip like this and that I have the best kids and family to have shared it with! We wore our pjs home and stopped at Bucee's! We came home to a fun birthday celebration put together by Daddy for big sis which was so special!

If you see anything in the pictures you want links to, just send me a message on Instagram, I'm happy to share it. Also, please let me know if you book this cabin or take a trip to Dollywood I'd love to share tips with you on that, too!
